Beth Blackerby has played and taught professionally in Austin, TX for the past 20 years. Beth launched ViolinLab.com In January, 2010. ViolinLab.com is a website dedicated to sharing detailed information about violin technique through high quality video. Besides making violin tutorials for the internet, Beth plays with the Austin Lyric Opera, the Austin Symphony, Chamber Soloists of Austin, and Conspirare, an internationally acclaimed choral organization. She was violin instructor at Texas Lutheran University, and served as concertmaster of the Mid- Texas Symphony. Beth traveled in Europe and played with the Teatre del Liceu orchestra in Barcelona, Spain. She also was a member of the Santa Fe Pro Musica chamber ensemble in Santa Fe New Mexico. She received her Masters of Music degree in Violin Performance at the University of Wisconsin, where she studied with Vartan Manoogian and received the Strelow Fellowship to play and perform with the Strelow String Quartet. She and her husband are the owners of Blackerby Violin Shop, the premiere stringed instrument store in Central Texas.
